Sigulda THRILLS

Located on the both sides of the Gauja valley, Sigulda is one of the most beautiful Latvian towns. For centuries, it has been captivating visitors from around the world wishing to experience the breathtaking view across the valley and discover the unique objects that are, in large numbers, located right next to each other all across Sigulda and its surroundings.

GROUP NR.1 (50 PAX)

18.30 LIVONIAN ORDER SIGULDA CASTLE – guided tour in english (approx.1 hour)

Built in 1207 as a castellum type fortress, later rebuilt into a convent type building. From 2012 it is possible to climb up the North Tower, the Main Gate Tower and enjoy the medieval aura.

Visiting medieval Livonia used to be a very special adventure for every knightly traveler from around Europe. It promised possible battle field experience, chance for distinguished deeds of arms, church blessing for crusading, as well as – the taste of local prosperity. Order’s castles were the starting and end points of these Northern crusading adventures.


19.30 GUTMAN’S CAVE (approx.30 min)

The largest grotto type cave in the Baltic countries and also the oldest tourist attraction in Latvia. On the walls of the cave there are inscriptions from the 17th century.

The legend of the Rose of Turaida began in this cave.
